VISAGE DE MENTHE FRAIS CLAIR!!!! CLEAR COOL MINTY FACE!!!!

Maintaining a clear and clean skin is not always easy. Buying the right cleansing products is even harder, there are so many to choose from. Specially now, with many brands out there claiming "Natural", "Organic", "No Artificial ingredients", "Oil free", "Alcohol free", etc... You get the point. Now, I am going to give you a simple recipe that anyone can make in the kitchen with natural ingredients. It has been proven to work. How? Why, you ask? Again, very simple. Because every multi-million dollar company is using the ingredients I am going to tell you about. You can find the ingredients in your grocery store for a fraction of the cost of a 6oz bottle of the "fufu" stuff.

May Mint Melange Continues!

Here's another minty secret that you need to know. Mint combined with a few magical ingredients that cools, refreshes, cures dry skin and acne. It does what every product on the store shelf's in fancy bottles claim to do for a fraction of the cost. Hey, who doesn't want to save money these days? And it is the most natural unrefined recipe you will every make.

I call this concoction "SWEET MINTY GLOW". The quantity of ingredients you will need will depend on the quantity of supply you will want to store for future cleansing. If you want to try a one time sampler here are the portions you will need.

Ingredients needed:

1. Two Mint (only) tea bags (brew a half a cup of tea)
2. Two table spoons of clover honey
3. one quarter of small lemon (squeeze 4 drops of lemon juice)
4. half a cup of natural crushed oats (you can use Quaker oats and crush it with the back of a table spoon)

The preparation:

Mix everything together until it turns into a paste. Do not cook the oats. Once you accomplish this, put on the mask for twenty minutes then wash it off with cold water and "Voila!" see the clear cool glow that is revealed. Use this twice a week, you'll not only see the difference but you will feel it and enjoy it.

If you decide that you want to make a larger portion for future cleansing. You can. The honey is a natural preservative, it is antibacterially active and antioxidant rich. I don't recommend you make more than a one month supply. Be sure to store it in the refrigerator in a closed container or a jar.

Ladies and gentlemen, I guarantee you will think twice about buying the fancy name brands after one Sweet Mint Glow mask. And try not to eat your new face cleanser.

That's it, it's that simple. Now go wash your face.

MAY MINT MELANGE (with the accent)

Since I started my blog with a simple mint recipe, I have decided to create some additional mint recipes for the month of may. And conveniently call it "May Mint Melange".

Mentha AKA Mint seems to be everywhere, chewing gum, candy, jelly, teas, mojitos, tinis, ice creams-gelatos, air fresheners, our Davine aphrodisiac Chocolate and the list goes on and on. They even serve it to you as a prize (chocolate mint) at some restaurants after you have devoured your dinner, that is because the mint helps with indigestion.

Mint was native to the Mediterranean and the Romans thought by eating mint it would increase their intelligence (sounds like they might have needed to eat a little bit more of it), just kidding. It was carried in their first aide kits and used to wash wounds and cuts. They even thought it can cure hiccups, but didn't most of the time.

I live by the manna of the mint and I shall now pass on my next simple healing recipe to you.

This weeks melange is to take some mint leaves and sniff it through out the day. Wacky but wait hear me out. Interestingly enough, you will not be the first to manically sniff some mint like a hound dog on a blood trail. The University of Cincinnati conducted a research study and determined that it may actually increase your concentration. This was believed to be so true that some Japanese companies began to pipe in small amounts of mint oil through their air conditioning systems to help their workers increase productivity and invigorate their senses.

Incredible that something so easily available and very inexpensive can do the job of what some companies with their snake oil concoctions claim to do.

That's it, it's that simple. Now go sniff your mint and let me know your experience.

Manna-miraculous food, spiritual nourishment divine sustenance

“Mountain Rose Herbs Recipe Contest" EVERYDAY-PEPPERMINT FIX!! http://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=2138496283644405752

Howdy all-

I call this everyday herbal mixture "the Peppermint Fix".

It's kind of like most people's caffine fix, but to me it's the morning mint fix. I religiously prepare it every morning after my oatmeal fix. Ok, I'm sounding a little fixie repetative. But it's very true.

The Peppermint Fix has been part of my daily herb intake for at least ten years. I have other daily herbal fixes, however I will share those on another blog post. I'm not sure if I started to drink it for a healthy bowel or just for the taste, it sure is tasty. For those that have not researched the health benefits of peppermint, I will give a short synopsis at the end of my recipe.

I like my mint fix strong, so the portion may look like a bit much but it does the job.

1 table spoon of dried peppermint leaves
1 tea spoon of dried rose petals
1 tea spoon of honey
2 cups of boilng water

Seep for five minutes and voila!

That's it, very simple and gets the job done.

The Peppermint leaves have very beneficial properties that help maintain a regular healthy bowel. However, I have used it to relieve sinus colds and flu symptons. Call me crazy but it has worked for me.

The rose petals have many healing and preventative properties. They are rich in Vitamin A, B3, C, D and E. They also have been proven to be a mild sedative, gives one an esscense of well being, even somewhat of an anti-depressant.

Bee honey has a long list of benefits, other than just being the sweetest sweetener.

soothes a sore throat
sedative -assists with sleeping
contains all the minerals and vitamins a body needs (Bee pollen would be ideal for this)
longevity
good digestion
heals cuts and scrapes
helps clear congestion

The Peppermint fix is one herbal mix that can give you a lot of health and healing benefits on the daily.

Happy Herbaling!!
